Dune di Piscinas:
tra il mare verde smeraldo e le
vecchie miniere
Al tramonto, un ragazzo di nome Alec galoppa tra alte dune di sabbia dorata, immerso in una natura selvaggia e inviolata. Era il 1978 e il registra Francis Ford Coppola scelse il paesaggio incontaminato delle Dune di Piscinas per le riprese del suo film Black Stallion.
Oggi queste Dune conservano la loro naturale bellezza, l’aspetto ameno e la tranquillità tipica delle spiagge poco affollate dai turisti – ad eccezione dei mesi di punta. Sono immense distese di sabbia che collegano le miniere di Ingurtosu e Montevecchio, con il mare blu della costa occidentale della Sardegna.
Le Dune di Piscinas sono un’attrazione unica per i turisti e un primato da conservare per tutti noi sardi: con i loro 100 metri, infatti, costituiscono le dune di sabbia più alte di Europa.
Anche gli animali sembrano apprezzare la tranquillità del luogo, di sera è facile incontrare cinghiali inoffensivi, cervi sardi e conigli selvatici passando dalla montagna al mare. Nella stagione primaverile è anche possibile osservare le tartarughe che depongono le uova in spiaggia.
Il fascino delle Dune di Piscinas, tuttavia, risiede nei tramonti da cartolina che si verificano ogni giorno e nel fondale alto che lascia spazio ai colori azzurro e verde smeraldo del mare.
C’è anche un altro particolare rilevante che incuriosisce i turisti e non stupisce noi sardi: attraverso le Dune si trovano facilmente alberi di ginepro che crescono piegati lungo la sabbia. La causa è da ricercare nel Maestrale, un vento che spezza spesso la tranquillità della spiaggia.
